DEMAND is the maximum incurred load during that month.
FUEL
ADJUSTMENT is the amount of operating fuels
multiplied by the costs. The cost is then averaged over several months to
reduce the monthly cost to the customer. As fuel prices began to fluctuate it
became necessary to allow utilities to charge extra for the fuel (NG, coal,
diesel) and lubricating oil usage to keep rate structures more stable.
